The Keepmoat Stadium’s weekly car boot market, which has been running for the past two years, is now attracting more than 2,500 people per week with locals trading new and used goods - a sign of a strapped but recovering economy.
The Sunday stall pleaser sees around 180 car boot sellers park up to sell their wares every week, almost doubling last years figures - and is set to see even more with the summer season nearing.
Shane Chalmers, head of the Stadium Management Company said: “The current economic situation means that many people are looking to save money wherever possible, which is probably why we have seen such a fantastic reaction to our weekly car boot sale which just keeps on growing.
“There really is no better time to recycle unwanted goods and snap up a bargain and we welcome everyone, from those who wish to trade items to those who may just want to peruse the stalls and enjoy the sunshine.”
