Jenny Meredith, aged 29, from Rossington, took to the stage with two other finalists who were given top to toe makeovers by the Debenhams personal shoppers and the Lux Hair team, and wowed audiences with her transformation at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Nominated by her sister Wendy Pollock, Jenny, a staff nurse at Doncaster Royal Infirmary won an overnight stay at the Crown Hotel in Bawtry as well as being named the top lady.
She said: “I was amazed that my sister had nominated me for this. She’s heard on Trax Fm that they were looking for women who deserved a makeover and she put my name forward.
“Three ladies were chosen by a judging panel to take part in the evening and we all had such a great time. Everyone really looked after us and getting our hair, makeup and clothes done for us was a real treat.”
The three women stood on stage to show the audience what they looked like without make up on and in their regular clothes and were then whisked away for their transformation.
Wendy said: “I nominated Jenny because she has always been there for me. Our mother died from breast cancer when I was two and Jenny was seven. Jenny always put other people first and I thought this would be a great chance for her to be the focus.
“As a mature student Jenny worked hard to put herself through university and became a staff nurse at DRI. She is now the proud mum of 14 month old Chloe who was born seven weeks prematurely after a horrendous pregnancy. She works full time and shares childcare with her husband so it was really nice to see her being spoiled for once.
“I was so proud to see her up on the stage and when the audience voted for her to win the overall prize I just cried.”
The three finalists all got to keep their outfits provided by the Debenhams personal shopping team and audiences were shown this seasons latest looks from the new Ben De Lisi range.
Jenny said: “It was a fabulous evening and along with Annie (Carr) and Shani (Hanson), the other two finalists, I felt we were all winners.”
